Moab for Linux
CAC Linux clusters are scheduled and managed with the Moab Cluster Suite from Cluster Resources.
Scheduling Windows and Linux Clusters
CAC is testing the use of Moab to schedule Windows and Linux clusters in a single sign-on environment leveraging Microsoft’s Active Directory. Moab interfaces with the TORQUE Resource Manager on Linux and uses Microsoft’s Windows HPC Server 2008 scheduler on Windows clusters.
Low Latency, High-Throughput Scheduling
CAC staff has designed a database scheduling solution that effectively masks latencies by using SQL and a Web services front-end to “push” data out to compute nodes. This solution is ideal for high-throughput applications and has been deployed by academic and industry clients.
