Research Service Groups
Besides providing services directly to our clients, CAC provides core infrastructure
and management support to Cornell Research Service Groups. Research Service Groups focus on key or emerging
research priorities. They are centers of expertise that can help to accelerate research
solutions.
Computational Biology Service Unit (CBSU) at CAC
CBSU research staff
collaborate with over 50 faculty research groups at the Ithaca campus and at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
Services include:
- Collaborating on Cornell research projects that require expertise in genomics, proteomics,
data mining, or structural and computational biology
- Developing and maintaining an extensive suite of computational biology applications on
high-performance computing clusters accessible to Cornell researchers through
Web interfaces
- Providing consulting in genomics and computational biology
- Developing or modifying software tools to create custom solutions for Cornell researchers
- Designing and assisting in the implementation of Laboratory Information Management
systems
CBSU also provides consulting advice to industry, collaborating with life sciences
and IT industry companies.
