CTC Software List

See CTC web pages for up-to-date software lists.

Details on running an application or using a library at CTC are usually available by clicking on the name of the application or library.

This Virtual Workshop module highlights the most widely used software at CTC, but more software is available.  For a complete list with up-to-date status, see CTC's web pages.  Updates are frequently made to the web pages so that the list is up-to-date and users can find information themselves. Currently there are separate software pages for Windows and Linux. Eventually, the two lists may merge into a single web page.

If you have questions about a particular software package's status, or if you would like to request software that does not appear on the list, please send email to consult.

Windows Software Page

From the Theory Center home page, choose Services and then on the next page choose Software. By default, the software is listed alphabetically by product name. The viewer can click on any column heading to change the sort order. The columns of the table are
- vendor name
- product name
- a brief description of the product,
- installation status on each of the types of machines in our current configuration.

Under the Installation Status columns, you can see the status of each software package. In some cases, we plan to install a certain package but have not yet done so due to time constraints and other higher priority work. A "no" entry often indicates that we feel it is not appropriate to install the software (e.g., compilers are not installed on the batch compute nodes). "no" can also mean that we are currently not licensed to run the package on certain machines.

Linux Software Page

From the Theory Center home page, choose Services, then Support, then How to use the CTC Linux Cluster, and then near the bottom of the page click on List of Linux Software.

Software packages are listed along with their location.  Most of the software is instaled on both the login nodes and the batch nodes.  One exception is that compilers are gnerally only installed on the login nodes.

Since the Linux clusters are new (relative to the Windows cluster), the list is currently much much shorter.

Details on Using Applications and Libraries at CTC

To get details on running an application or using a library, view the Software web page click on the name.

For some software packages, particularly applications which must be run in batch, CTC-written web pages will give you detailed information about running the package on CTC machines, often including an example batch command file which you can copy and modify for your own use.

For some software packages, you may be directed to the vendor's web page.

If the web pages don't have enough information on how to run an application or ue a library, please contact consult for immediate help and to let us know that the page needs more detailed instructions.
